07/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Tyler is a talented, R/R 2-way player (SS/RHP) who can make things happen. With the bat, this righty stands in well with a tall/open stance, centered balance and smooth rhythm to load. He fires the barrel with plus bat speed, engages his lower 1/2 and sends the ball flying to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 89 mph). At SS, he has athletic/fluid actions and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He picks out the hops well, makes the plays with soft/sure hands and fires strong/accurate throws with zip to 1B. On the mound, Tyler will challenge hitters with a 3-pitch arsenal. He works to a controlled balance point, fires from a quick arm action and works the ball in and out. FB cracks the mitt at 83 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape. Changeup shows to be his best off-speed pitch with good arm-side run. He throws it with the same arm speed as his FB which will help to create deception. Tyler is a solid 2-way prospect (2023 grad) who has a bright future ahead in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
