03/04/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Tyler is an athletic and talented 2020 2-way prospect. At SS, Tyler presents a low/early glove and has a quick first step the ball. He works from the ground up, has a clean exchange, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Tyler loads his hands into the drive position and has good pre pitch rhythm. He attacks the inside part of the ball, uses his backside side, and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Tyler gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and throws north to south. He repeats his delivery well and throws both pitches for strikes. Tyler will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/05/2017 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Tyler is a lean SS and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.00. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Arm strength is outstanding (85 mph velocity) with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine displaying outstanding hitting abilities with solid potential through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He uses his lower half well and works to stay inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
