06/02/2019 - National Tryout Plus - River Forest (Chicago), IL Tyler is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Tyler shows active footwork and uses his speed to attack the ball aggressively. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to great power to his pull side. Overall, Tyler is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his senior season.

03/05/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Indianapolis, IN Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.84. At the plate, he has improved, now showing solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Arm strength has improved as well (85 mph) with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry to his target.

09/25/2016 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Tyler is a wiry two-way prospect who graduates in 2020. In the outfield, Tyler plays with efficient footwork giving him above average range. He is working to receive the ball with softer glove, but does a have a clean exchange leading to a long arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Tyler works with momentum towards his target producing throws online with carry. Offensively, Tyler has a tall, open stance with a square stride. He takes a good load and is working to become more fluid with his rhythm. Tyler uses his strength effectively at the plate showing good pull side power. On the mound, Tyler has a projectable frame with balanced mechanics throwing from a high 3/4 slot with loose, clean arm action. He stays square to home plate and extends upon his release with a controlled landing as he rotates nicely. Tyler's has a fastball 73-77 MPH. He commands his curveball as his best pitch and also throws a developing change-up. Tyler is a projectable prospect with good upside as he continues to grow on the field.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Tyler is a high energy player that works hard to improve his game. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles and utilizes his outstanding foot speed to track balls down, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his arm. At the plate, he has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Swing path is direct and he use his lower half well through the swing with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2B. On the mound, he shows great mound presence with a live arm that works well to the plate. Fastball shows good arm side run with an 11/5 shape breaking ball with gradual break. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 5 years to further develop, Tyler has a lot of potential and is a sure player to follow.

09/06/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Tyler is a talented R/R 2-way player as an OF/RHP. With the bat, this righty shows a balanced setup as he waits for his pitch. He takes an aggressive hack on a level path and connects, extending well through contact. In the OF, Tyler shows active prep and tracks down fly-balls to his right and left. Exchange is clean and arm works loose & free as he fires strong throws with carry & accuracy into his target. On the bump, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, SL, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balance point, maintains level shoulders and works in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 72-74 mph as he pounds the zone with strikes. Slider has 10/4 shape with good action. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed as he keeps it down in the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
