06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Tyler continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 92 mph. Fastball showed solid tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He throws a split finger that shows plus sinking action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. He works behind balls and plays through aggressively with his feet / body. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter and has improved his abilities from both sides, now showing tremendous hitting / power potential. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (87 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. Tyler has a big upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler has one of the most impressive arms you'll find, which will fit right in at the next level. The ball jumps out of his hand on the mound, running his fastball up to 91mph with hard run and sink. He works quick with great tempo and has a deceptive delivery to induce terrible swings from hitters and rack up the strike outs, incorporating his hard 10-4 curveball. He shows athleticism in the outfield, moving light on his feet to extend his range in all directions. He plays through the ball and unleashes his cannon for an arm to gun down base runners at every base. A switch hitter, his left handed swing is smooth and direct to the ball with extension through contact to drive it to drive it to right field. His quiet actions and still head in the box give him a solid approach and he rarely gets himself out. Tyler will be an impact two-way player at the next level very soon.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Tyler is a very advanced prospect who excites on the mound and as a position player. The RHP has a big fastball, that and pounds the zone with and jumps out of his hand, to go along with a great changeup with run and sink thrown with good arm speed. He shows an advanced feel with good tempo and the ability to work ahead of hitters. His delivery is compact and repeatable with good direction towards the plate. At the plate, Tyler is a switch hitter who hits the ball hard from both sides. He is comfortable spraying the ball to all fields, taking the barrel to the ball quickly, making good contact. In the outfield, he has extended range and takes great routes to balls. A good fielder with soft hands, he also shows off a loose arm with good carry to his target. This is an impressive player with great potential.

12/13/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Madison (NYC), NJ Tyler is an athletic switch-hitting OF who continues to shine on the diamond. With the bat, he currently shows more naturally from the right side where he packs a ton of power. Hands are quick as he connects with strength and drives the ball to the deep parts of the park In the OF, he has active prep footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He secures the ball and works through it well, in-line toward his target. Arm is quick as he fires strong throws (88 mph) with carry to his target. Ras will make things happen every time he steps onto the diamond.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tyler is an athletic OF with tremendous upside. In the OF he has quick feet, gets behind the ball well, and takes the proper routes to the ball. He is aggressive to the ball and he has good body control with his approach. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws with carry. At the plate Tyler is a switch hitter with a consistent swing from both sides of the plate. He has a smooth load, strong balance, and he uses his lower half well. He keeps a still head throughout his swing and finishes his swing with a strong top hand. He flashed raw power and should continue to get stronger with both swings as he gets older.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
