08/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Providence, RI Tyler is an athletic, 2-way player who will graduate in 2023. Defensively, Tyler has active feet, agile movements, and he gets into a good ready position. He makes plays, fields squarely, and has a clean exchange with a consistent arm to his cut off man. On the mound, Tyler is a coachable player with a loose arm circle. He gets good extension, finishes completely, and commands both sides of the plate with his FB. Offensively, Tyler has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He makes hard/square contact and he uses his lower body. Tyler can continue to improve with work on the following.

07/23/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Providence, RI Tyler is a lean, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Tyler has good balance, he keeps his eyes on target, and he repeats his delivery well. He separates on time, has a controlled landing toward home, and is around the plate with his pitches. In the OF, Tyler has active feet, he fields aggressively, and his exchange is clean with consistency from a quick arm action to his target. At the plate, Tyler has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a line drive swing, makes square contact, and uses some lower body. Tyler can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
