11/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Tyler showed nice abilities behind the plate and some pop for his age at the plate during his last workout. Defensively, Tyler sits in squarely, footwork is active, and he tries to use his body when blocking. He has firm/presentable hands, his exchange is quick and clean, and Tyler throws with a quick release to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.2 seconds. If Tyler can lower his set-up, gain more ground, and add arm strength, catching can continue to improve. Offensively, Tyler has a square stance, quick hands, and a level/aggressive swing. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and he makes consistent contact. Hitting numbers can continue to get better with work on timing and more use of his lower body.
