12/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Tyler is a talented, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Tyler has good balance over the rubber, on-time hand separation, and a clean arm circle. He uses his lower body well, lands with a good length stride toward home, and he throws strikes consistently. Tyler has a FB that touches 79 MPH, and his off-speed compliment it well. More glove side lead and front arm extension will help mound effectiveness get even better. At SS, Tyler has active feet, an athletic fielding position, and a presentable glove. He has good range, he plays through the baseball well, and throws with momentum and accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, this RHH has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He has explosive bat speed, he makes hard/consistent contact, and he uses his lower body well.

04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Manalapan, NJ Tyler is an athletic, 2-way player with very good skills. At SS, Tyler has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he fields in an athletic position. He plays with energy, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Tyler has good balance, a loose/clean arm action, and he separates on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, finishes completely, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Tyler has a closed stance, he loads well, and stays inside the baseball. He has a direct swing path, he can spray to all fields, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
