12/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rindge, NH Tyler is an OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Tyler shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Tyler build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and leads well with his lower half. He swings with intent and drives the ball to his pull side. Tyler can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Tyler is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at the Jackie Robinson Sports Complex Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front. At the event, he was 4 for 7 with a 2B and 2 3B.

07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Tyler continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the OF. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

12/27/2021 - All-In Membership - Rindge, NH Tyler is an OF/3B in the class of 2026 out of Maine. In the outfield, he showed us he could make the routine play consistently and tried to take good angles to cut balls off. In the infield, he displayed the ability to present glove early to get good hops and make the routine plays on the diamond while making consistent throws to his target. At the plate, he uses a lower stance with smooth timing to find balance and work the barrel through the zone with power to the pull side. With 3+ years of development we believe Tyler can improve upon his skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
