01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Tyler improved arm velocity to 61 MPH and exit velocity to 68 MPH during his last workout in Arizona. He is a young, coachable player with a good attitude. In the OF, Tyler plays with energy, he has a good 1st step to the ball, and he fields athletically. He fields in rhythm, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy to his cut off man. Offensively, Tyler has a tall/square stance, a level swing, and he keep his hands high. He makes consistent contact, rotates through the ball well, and hits with strength to the pull side. Tyler does a good job to get on base and make things happen for his team.

08/04/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Tyler is an athletic 2-way player who plays OF and 2nd base. In the OF, Tyler has active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields in a low position. He catches fly balls at its highest point, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to his cut off man. At 2nd base, Tyler has active feet, he looks the ball into his glove, and he field squarely. He shows a good idea on the backhand play and throws with accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Tyler has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel, and he works the ball gap to gap. Overall abilities can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
