09/21/2014 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Tyler continues to show well each event. At the plate, this 2015 grad works the middle of the field with an aggressive approach, attacking fastballs. His ability to track the ball allows him to get deep into counts, making the pitcher work. Tyler will see improvement in his abilities at the plate when he keeps a good posture and keeps the hands level through his swing. Defensively, at 3B he has good pre-pitch mechanics and ability to stay through the ball gives him good feeds on the DP and the ability to shut the opponents offensive game down. A solid long toss program and developing a more lengthy follow through will allow Tyler's abilities at 3B to improve. On the mound, his mechanics are well above average. He uses his glove side to guide his arm to his target, finishing his pitch very well. 2 of his 3 pitches (FB/CH) see arm-side run, making it difficult to tell the two apart. His slider seems to be his out pitch with its tight, two-plane break. Overall, Tyler has worked hard and molded himself into a solid player.
