07/31/2016 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Tyler is a solid RHP/OF who will graduate in 2018. On the mound, Tyler shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 77-78mph with good arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball ranges from 61-64mph with sharp 11-5 movement. Changeup sits from 64-66mph with good arm side run and sinking action. Tyler can improve as a pitcher by leading more with his glove side arm in his delivery. In the field, Tyler has decent body control and uses his feet efficiently. He posses sure hands that he presets on time to field the ball. He is aggressive to ground balls and has a clean exchange to throw which allows his throws to stay on line to his target. Tyler can improve defensively by throwing more downhill and by getting rid of the ball quicker on his throws. At the plate, Tyler has a middle approach and shows decent balance in the box. He takes aggressive hacks at the ball with decent bat speed. Tyler can improve as a hitter by using his lower half more throughout his swing. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect and with two more years to develop he has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
