01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler is a SS prospect who can do it all and is fun to watch play the game. He makes all the plays at short with great range and a rifle arm to make tough plays looks easy. Hands a lightening quick to funnel and release, making smooth plays. Offensively, hes a tough out with the ability to deliver the barrel and power to all fields. Swing is compact and on plane through the zone with loose hands to fire to and through contact. Tyler has loud tools and a bright future in the game starting at the next level.

11/12/2017 - College PREP - Midland, TX Tyler is a long, athletic SS who is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.88. In the MIF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and present well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. He shows off his athletic abilities on slow roller and double plays. Arm strength is at a pro level (93 mph velocity) with throws displays life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick (94 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
