11/13/2016 - College PREP - Riverside, CA Tyler is an athletic, versatile player who shows very good skills no matter where he plays. Behind the plate, he is a wall as he gets down quickly to block and keeps everything in front. He has quick, fluid footwork and an athletic, low setup that allows him to move well laterally. He receives with firm, presented hands and has a quick exchange and release to register very low pop times (2.00 seconds). At the dish, he displays a middle approach with a direct, level path to the ball and good extension through contact to generate backspin. He is fluid in the box, staying connected and keeping his bat in the zone for a long time to show good feel for the barrel. At second, he takes efficient angles to balls hit his way and fields with an extended glove to dictate the hop he plays. He has an accurate arm and a quick release to turn double plays swiftly. Working on agility drills will help his fluidity and extend his range. Tyler is a very exciting player who we are excited to see become a coveted prospect for the next level.
