05/03/2015 - College PREP - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Tyler is a lean, young RHP/SS that will graduate in 2018. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he works in line and on time, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 70-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. At SS, feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He moves well laterally and shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more, playing through while presenting hands more out front and increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and increase bat speed. Power numbers will increase as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through his lower half. With 3 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with time and room to improve.
