  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Tyler is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Tyler fields the ball out in front of his body and makes accurate throws to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Tyler improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He rotates his core through the zone and produces solid line drives. Tyler can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Tyler gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Tyler shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 53-55mph with 10-4 break. Extending through his release can help Tyler improve as a pitcher. Overall, Tyler is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/20/2020 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Tyler is a 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Tyler shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistent to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Tyler improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and takes a level swing with good extension, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Tyler can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Tyler gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Tyler shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph. Breaking ball sits from 53-55mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 54-55mph with arm side run. Extending through his release more can help Tyler improve as a pitcher. Overall, Tyler is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Phoenix, AZ Tyler is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Tyler has active footwork, he presents his glove properly, and covers ground well. He takes good angles, has a clean exchange, and a long arm action with consistency to his target. On the mound, Tyler has a clean AA, he works in good tempo, and has a controlled landing toward the plate. Offensively, Tyler has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and has a compact swing. He swings on-plane, makes consistent contact, and can spray the ball to all fields. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
