01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ty is a 2027 OF/RHP out of Port Chester, NY who showcased his skills at the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. In the OF, he showed athletic actions as he tracks the ball well and works through the baseball. Good first step reads enable him to run down balls in all directions. He fields from an athletic/square fielding position with his hands out front. He creates momentum to his target as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate, this switch hitter hits from an athletic and even stance with loose hands. A controlled load, with good bat to ball skills, and hits into a firm frontside. Gets good extension as he hit balls into both gaps. During the games, Ty reached base 2 times with 2 singles. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time and strides in line. He attacks hitters with a FB that sat 72-74mph, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. With 4 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Ty making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Tyrus showed some offensive and defensive improvements during his time in Florida. He is a hard-working, coachable catcher with above average skills behind the plate. Behind the dish, Tyrus sits in well, tracks to his glove, and blocks consistently. He has a clean glove, a quick release, and an accurate arm to 2nd base. Offensively, Tyrus shows as a switch hitter. From the left, he has good balance, a rhythmic swing, and makes level contact using his lower body. From the right, Tyrus stands in athletically, has a good bat path, and he rotates his lower body through the baseball. He showed great leaderships skills throughout the event as well.

12/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Tyrus is a young 2-way player who catches and plays OF. Behind the plate, Tyrus sticks the ball well, footwork is efficient, and he covers some ground. He has a firm, presentable glove, and throws with accuracy to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.95 seconds. In the OF, Tyrus has active feet, good range, and athletic movements. He has a soft/presentable glove and a quick release with some carry to his cut off man. Offensively, Tyrus has a closed stance, a rhythmic swing, and he centers well from the left side. From the right, Tyrus has good balance, a solid grip, and he makes square contact. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

1. Footwork
2. Hands
3. Release
Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Arm strength
Offense
1. Lower body

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
