Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

11/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Tyson is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B, he works to center the baseball, with fluid/active footwork, and ability to field from the ground up. Tracks the ball to glove with a low funnel and a clean exchange. He fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. Made accurate/on-line throws from multiple arm slots and an arm velocity up to 78mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and works with good tempo. He gets eyes on target early and has a loose/clean arm. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 67-69mph with some sinking action, a breaking ball with 11/5 shape, and a changeup with good sink that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. A small hand load, with a short glide step, and ability to hit ball where pitched. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 68mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sanford (Orlando), FL Tyson is an athletic 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Tyson has active feet, a presentable glove, and he covers ground well. He makes plays, funnels well, and has an accurate arm with direction across the diamond. On the mound, Tyson has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with good direction, and finishes completely. At the plate, Tyson has a tall/open stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He has a direct barrel, makes consistent contact, and uses his lower body. Overall skills can get better if Tyson can work on the following.

Infield
1. Release
2. Arm strength
3. Footwork
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Landing
3. Arm strength
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
