Official Scouting Report

06/15/2018 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Victor continues to show as a top prospect as he continues to improve his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth, fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, hitting abilities are now near a pro level through a squared setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. At the event, he was 5 for 10 with a 2B and a HR. Mental makeup is outstanding as he is a great kid, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best athlete he can be. Victor has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball tools.

05/06/2018 - College PREP - Houston, TX Victor is a solid, thick OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is superior as indicated by his 60 time of 6.59. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying excellent hitting abilities with pro level power potential through an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick / strong (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. The baseball comes off his bat differently when centered. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with zip (84 mph velocity) to his target. Victor has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
