06/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida One of two underclassmen on this year's roster for the Under Armour All-America Game, Victor has a special arm. His four-pitch mix includes a low-to-mid 90s fastball, an 11/5 curve with depth, a fading change, and a recent addition - a slider. Victor competes and has a history of winning that includes this year's Florida State Championship Game for Monsignor Pace High School.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament The 6'3/210-pound Mederos was a real presence on the mound. He exuded a quiet confidence while going about his business of retiring hitters relatively easily. His delivery was balanced and sound with clean arm action that resulted in a pretty easy fastball velocity that touched 95 mph. The Miami commit complemented the big fastball with a 2-plane breaking and a low 80s change, both of which were high-level, effective offerings. Victor struck out 8 of the 12 batters he faced and showed once again that he is one of the top pitchers in the country regardless of graduation year.

09/16/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Victor is a RHP who is one of the top prospects in the entire 2020 class. He has an outstanding pitcher's frame at 6'3", 210 pounds and he features three outstanding pitches. His fastball sat consistently in the 92-94 mph range through his outing, and he complemented it with a tight curveball with depth and a quality change. Victor's delivery is simple, balanced and repeatable, while his arm is clean and quick leading to very easy velocity - it looks like he is playing catch. He struck out five of the eight hitters he faced staying down in the zone for the most part but climbing the ladder to change eye levels at times. The total package that Victor brings is extremely impressive - the ceiling is incredibly high for this young pitcher.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
