01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) This athletic OF continues to shine and impress on the diamond. A force at the plate, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. He has fluid rhythm to load, fires the barrel with + bat speed and engages his lower 1/2 well. The ball jumps when centered (exit velo = 89 mph). In the OF, he takes a quick first step and is aggressive to track down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He secures the ball and has a quick release, firing strong/accurate throws with backspin/carry into his target. Victor is a talented/versatile prospect who has the tools that will make an immediate impact at the next level.

10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Charlotte, NC Victor continues to show well on the diamond. He covers a ton of ground with speed in the OF working behind and through the ball with athletic actions and a quick transfer. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with active hands to load. Barrel delivery is quick to and through the zone as he connects and creates consistent/hard contact (exit velocity = 89 mph). Wilburn also gets on the mound and works the zone with a 3-pitch mix. FB has good movement and will give hitters a tough time squaring up. Breaking ball shows 1/7 shape with good action - 61-63 mph. Victor is a solid prospect who should find success as he approaches his senior season.

08/16/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Victor is a lean, athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects best at a RHH where he shows outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, he shows a sound, repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run / sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength on the mound. Victor has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

08/02/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Victor is a skilled 2-way player (OF/LHP) who has speed. He is a coachable player who hustles all over the diamond and worked hard on his skills during his time at Pirate City. With the bat, this leadoff type shows an athletic/open stance with centered balance. He whips the barrel through the zone with authority and connects with pop, spraying the ball to the gaps (exit velocity = 85 mph). He is quick out of the box and down the 1B line putting pressure on the defense. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles to track down fly-balls. He remains athletic playing through the ball and gaining ground toward his target. Transfer is clean as he fires from a loose/free arm action, zipping accurate throws into his target. On the mound, this LHP throws strikes as his delivery is a little deceptive making it difficult for hitters to pick up the ball. FB tops out at 76 mph with good action and sink. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with right spin. He commands the ball and works to keep it away from RHH's. Wilburn is a solid 2-way prospect who has the tools that will play at the next level.

05/24/2020 - All-In Membership - Mooresville (Charlotte), NC Victor is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accuracy with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Victor has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
