Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

06/27/2013 - California Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Vincent is an average size two-way player (3B and RHP) who plays hard at all times. Defensively Vincent moves through the ball well with good lateral movement. He has a sound fielding position and has sure hands to a clean exchange. Vincent throws the ball accurately and is very consistent. A long-toss program will continue to improve his arm strength. On the mound Vincent uses his lower-half effectively and finishes his pitches well. He pounds the inside portion of the strike zone with his fastball and will continue to improve as he gets bigger and stronger. At the plate Vincent hits the ball to all fields. He is a spray hitter with line-drive potential. He has a sound lower-half that will translate to more power in the future if he loosens up his upper body and shortens his swing path. Vincent is a very coachable player who hustles and gives you everything he's got. With continued work on speed, strength and his mechanics he shows to be a player with lots of potential.

03/09/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Kenosha, WI Vincent is an average sized, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Vincent has firm hands, playable feet, and he moves well to the ball. He has a quick exchange and delivers the ball with consistency to his target. On the mound, Vincent has an easy arm action, level shoulders, and he fills the zone with strikes. At the plate, Vincent has a square set-up, average bat speed, and he tracks the ball well. He has a level swing and a middle of the field approach. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lower approach
2. Lighten feet
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. More leg drive
2. Arm speed with off-speed
Offense
1. Loosen grip

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
