09/19/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - NJ (HS) Vincent continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.27. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

08/30/2020 - All-In Membership - Wilmington, DE Vincent is a R/R 2-way player (C/2B) who graduates in 2023. With the bat, this righty has an athletic stance with centered balance. He whips the barrel with + speed, squares it up and hits line-drives (exit velocity = 82 mph). Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and flexion. He takes good angles laterally around pitches in the dirt and works to center the ball off of his chest. He has a clean transfer with pop times at 2.35. At 2B, he has active prep and picks out the hops well. He creates angles working right to left around the GB. He gathers well and works in-line toward his target at 1B. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range. Vincent has tools with upside on the diamond.

11/18/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Marlborough (Boston), MA Vincent showed defensive improvements behind the plate and lowered pop times at the last workout. Pop times were clocked at 2.88 seconds. Defensively, Vincent has active feet, he holds a low target, and he presents his glove well. He sits in squarely, blocks and receives well, and throws with a short arm action to 2nd base. Offensively, Vincent has an athletic set-up, good balance, and has a flat swing path. He makes hard/consistent contact and uses his lower body. Vincent can continue to improve with work on the following.

Defensively behind the plate, he sits in a low/athletic stance and frames pitches with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws down to 2B. As a hitter, this righty shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. His lower 1/2 stays strong as he whips his barrel fast through the zone and consistently drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
