06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Von is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, good reads off bat and efficient footwork enables him to take good routes to balls. Square fielding position as he fields ball out front with ability to make routine plays. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 78mph into infield. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher works with good tempo and repeats his mechanics. Good direction towards plate and ability to throw strikes. Attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 74mph, a breaking ball 11/5 shape. A right-handed hitter, starts with an wide/athletic stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Drew 3 walks in live game action. Simple and balanced swing with ability to hit balls to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 82mph. Also used his lower ½ well. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Colorado Springs, CO Von is a strong OF/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the OF, Von shows active footwork and moves well to his glove side. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and generates fast bat speed through the zone, producing loud contact to all fields. On the mound, Von works inline toward the plate and finishes square to his target. He operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 61-62mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Von is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Von continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a square setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 67 mph. Arm action is loose / easy and works well to the plate. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and pitches to contact. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Von is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Von shows the proper footwork and gets into a square fielding position. He fields with firm hands and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Von can improve defensively by beating fly balls to their spot. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He get back into his load well and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to square contact to all fields. Von can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Von keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate, finishing square to the plate. His fastball tops out at 65mph. Von can improve as a pitcher by extending through on his release. With four more years to develop, Von has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

05/06/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Colorado Springs, CO Von is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Von has presentable hands, playable feet, and he presents his glove well. He shows some aggressiveness to the ball, makes plays, and throws with consistency from a long arm action to his target. On the mound, Von stands over the rubber well balanced, he works on a downhill plane, and gets good extension toward his target. At the plate, Von has a crouched set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He has strong hands, a simple approach, and he works the middle of the field. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
