06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South This athletic 3B shows a tremendous future on the diamond. A RHH- hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. He has strength (92 mph exit velocity) in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws (91 mph velocity). Defensive abilities are near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Wade has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Wade is a physical (6'1"/205-pounds) 3B prospect who swings the bat with authority. He attacks the ball with intent showing serious bat whip through the zone, leading to hard contact (91 mph exit velocity). His RH swing has some natural loft as well giving him pull-side power that plays. Wade also shows tools on the defensive side with soft, sure hands and a strong arm (88 mph arm strength) from 3B. His actions in the field are confident and natural with good instincts and the ability to make plays both to his forehand and backhand. Wade does quite a few things well on the field and is an exciting prospect to watch.

03/26/2017 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Wade is a strong and athletic 3B/RHP prospect. At 3B, Wade has active pre pitch movement, creates good angles to the ball, and has a strong arm across the diamond. He gains ground and works in-line toward his target. At the plate, Wade gets his hands into the drive position, uses his lower half and displays the ability to hit with power. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered (exit velocity = 90 mph). On the mound, Wade has a heavy fastball, stays balanced over the rubber, and has down hill tilt. Breaking ball shows 12/6 shape with good bite. He works the ball in and out and throws strikes consistently attacking the zone. Continuing to develop his secondary pitches will help him to progress on the mound. Wade is a talented 2-way player who has a ton of upside.

03/20/2016 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Wade is a solid 3B/C who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.04. At 3B, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach. Glove is soft / sure as he presents well out front. He moves well laterally, displaying range. Behind the plate, he utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in working in line through a clean transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.18-2.28 with accuracy on his throws. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 3 years to further develop, Wade has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
