12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Wade continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.26 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph exit velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential is solid through an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Building more arm strength through a long toss program will aid in improving stock on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/24/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Wade is an athletic RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Wade gathers over the rubber and works through solid mechanics. He finishes with his chest over his front knee and keeps his pitches around the zone. Wade shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Breaking ball sits at 62mph with good movement. Knuckleball shows good dancing action. Loosening his arm action can help Wade improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Wade can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Wade is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/26/2019 - College PREP - Keizer (Salem), OR Wade continues to show improvement in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

05/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Keizer (Salem), OR Wade is a tall, athletic RHP/OF. Defensively in the OF, he takes a prep step and is aggressive as he attacks the GB. He tries to get into a square fielding position and hustles hard laterally tracking down fly balls. On the mound, this righty keeps his eyes on target and delivers with clean arm action. He throws a 3-pitch mix from a 3/4 arm slot as he stays directional and finishes strong towards home plate. With the stick, Wade uses a middle of the field approach. He strides his front foot on time as he swings on plane through the zone and creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
