12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Walker is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Walker shows efficient footwork and flashes good lateral range. He fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Walker improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He takes a short swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Walker can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Walker gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Walker shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 65-66mph with 9-3 break. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Walker improve as a pitcher. Overall, Walker is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.
