Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Walker is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Large frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and fields from the ground up. Creates good fielding angles and keeps eyes behind glove on backhand. Long arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base at 82mph. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, Walker works with good direction and is balanced at release. Keeps his eyes on target and keeps frontside closed. Throws a FB that topped out at 76mph and an 10/4 shaped breaking ball with tight spin and good depth. Showed ability to field his position. In 3 innings of work during live games, Walker stuck out one and didn't allow many hits. A right-handed hitter, starts with a tall and open stance. Athletic setup, with a square stride, enables him to drive balls to all fields. Showed good awareness of the strike zone and hit 3 doubles in live game action. He also had multiple RBI’s and recorded a bat exit velocity of 86mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

11/15/2020 - All-In Membership - Germantown (Memphis), TN Walker is a tall/projectable (6'2"/190), switch hitting 2-way player who can make things happen in a multitude of ways. Offensively, he currently shows slightly more natural from the right side. He displays an open stance and gets his hands back into a strong load/launch position. He squares the ball up and drives the gaps (exit velocity = 82 mph). At 1B, he has quick/active prep and comes to get the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt with the ability to pick it. On the mound, this righty has a 4 pitch arsenal in which to challenge hitters with. He gets balanced, has smooth separation and fires from a quick/clean arm action. He keeps his eyes on the target and repeats well. FB ranges from 75-77 mph while showing slight run. He works it in and out and pounds the zone with strikes. Curveball and slider have similar actions with 11/5 shape, tight spin and late break. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed helping to create deception and complimenting his FB well. This 2-way prospect has a solid all-around skill-set that will provide success in this only his junior year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
