07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Wayne is a tall, lanky LHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball shows a range of 72-74 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Slider is harder with 1/7 shape and tight spin. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. At the plate he shows a squared / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. Wayne has an upside on the mound with a lot of room to progress his game.
