Official Scouting Report

07/14/2008 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Wesley showed his best command on the mound that we have saw. He also now throws a slider that displays tight spin with sharp break. He does still need to get on a strict long toss program to continue to build arm strength. Rhythmn and tempo are solid in delivery.

06/20/2007 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament Omaha Pro Select - 6/20/07 - Wesley continues to have great mechanics and an idea of how to pitch. Nice long free arm action lead to sink and arm-side run of his FB and CH. CH continued to show as his best pitch. CB and SLD were still a little loose. All pitches will improve with increased arm strength by playing long toss every day and use of his lower half.

06/09/2007 - ACR-E-Maryland 2 ACR/E Maryland2 6/9/2007 - He continues to show progress with consistent meachanics. He shows great feel for CH. Can do better with keeping hip and shoulder closed which will improve velocity and control.

02/11/2007 - College PREP - Houston, TX 2/11/2007 Houston SCR--Wesley's delivery shows some polish. Easy actions and loose arm action with good extension and has some sink with FB. Rotation on those breaking pitches needs to improve. Best pitch is his changeup. Has a very good feel for it and sinks it a bit as well. Front side tends to fly early on him. DCC 06- Smooth actions, easy del., good feel for lower half of zone. Will improve with strength.

11/05/2006 - National Team Tryout - Austin PM DCC 07- Smooth actions, easy del., good feel for lower half of zone. Needs strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
