12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Wesley is a talented OF/LHP prospect who has an above average skill set. In the field, Wesley plays athletically with quick, active footwork. He has a quick first step and moves with smooth, agile actions showing good range. Wesley fields the ball in a square, athletic position. He has a quick, clean exchange leading into a loose, clean arm action. Wesley plays with momentum through the baseball and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He shows strong, accurate throws with arm strength showing 85 MPH. Offensively, Wesley has an athletic setup with comfortable hands. He has an activated load with fluid rhythm and a controlled stride. Wesley shows fast bat speed and barrel control. He has an explosive lower half and rotates with his core. Wesley has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. On the mound, Wesley has a good mound presence and pitches aggressively. He has balanced, on-time mechanics throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and stays square to home plate. Wesley has the proper stride length with a full finish. He commands his fastball with arm side run. Wesley also features a deceptive changeup and medium breaking curveball. Overall, Wesley has talent on both sides of the ball and can make an impact at the next level.

10/07/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Spokane, WA Wesley is a talented outfield prospect who has an above average skill set. In the field, Wesley plays with effective footwork and stays behind the baseball. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Wesley has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. He plays through the baseball with good momentum towards his target. His throws are online and he is developing arm strength. Offensively, Wesley is a switch hitter who shows similar skills from both sides of the plate. He has a crouched setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with an on-time stride as his lower half leads his swing. Wesley shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing square contact. Wesley shows the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. Overall, Wesley can impact the game on both sides of the ball giving him a bright future on the diamond.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Wesley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as indicated by his top velocity of 73 mph. Fastball shows a range of 72-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with sharp break, showing as a deceptive pitch. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a 2B. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/01/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Spokane, WA Wesley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He only showed in the OF at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.28 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he showed as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Wesley is a hardworking OF/LHP prospect who graduates in 2019. In the outfield, Wesley plays with fluid footwork and covers good ground in each direction laterally. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands and a quick, clean exchange. Wesley has a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through his release and his throws are consistent. As a right-handed hitter, Wesley has a square stance with a centered balance. He takes a good load and a long stride. Wesley has a long swing path and choppy rhythm. He is a contact hitter who sprays the ball to all fields. On the mound, Wesley has a balanced delivery throwing from a high 3/4 slot with loose, clean action. He repeats his motion and stays square to home plate finishing with his chest over his knee. Wesley features a fastball and slider. Overall, Wesley has a solid skill set and the potential to get even better with development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
