09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Wesley continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop.

07/30/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Wesley is a RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. Wesley has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

06/15/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Wesley is an athletic RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (85 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a near pro level as he shows big play potential. Wesley has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Wesley is a strong SS prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Wesley takes a good first step and shows smooth footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent contact and hard line drives. Overall, Wesley is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

09/01/2019 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Wesley once again showed good physical strength, a strong arm, and solid all around skills at his last workout. He is a solid SS with a presentable glove, active feet, and good movements to the ball. He make plays, fields squarely, and has a short/consistent arm with direction to his target. At the plate, Wesley has a square/athletic stance, strong hands, and fast bat speed. He stands in well balanced, his barrel is short and direct, and he shows the ability to work the ball to all fields.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Wesley continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays proper footwork in attacking and playing through balls. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with zip (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Wesley has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/21/2018 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Wesley continues to shine on the diamond with a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to attack more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range is solid as he moves well laterally, covering a lot of ground. Throws display accuracy and zip (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Wesley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he shows smooth clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a compact swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Wesley continues to show the makings of a special type player on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared / crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a short / direct path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He attacks balls with his feet as he works around and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, works very hard, and is a great teammate.

07/16/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Washington, DC Wesley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.16. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing, works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and shows a solid feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved, as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Wesley is a tall and athletic 3B/RHP prospect. Defensively, Wesley needs to continue to create pre pitch movement, staying down on balls to his backhand, and playing through the ball in order to create momentum on his throws across the diamond. Agility/ speed drills will help increase his range and mobility. On the mound, Wesley gathers over the rubber, makes adjustments pitch to pitch, and throws strikes. He needs to continue to have a loose arm, and commanding his secondary pitch will make him a more complete pitcher. Wesley is a good, well-mannered player who has a bright future ahead of him.

07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Wesley is an athletic, projectable prospect with good upside on the mound and the drive to improve every day. He shows off a quick arm on the mound with a free and clean stroke to the plate. He gathers well over the rubber and has good rhythm to separate on time when going to the plate. He features a fastball that can reach the upper 60's with cut that he throws for strikes. At the dish, Wesley is balanced throughout his swing with smooth rhythm. He transfers his weight well with rotation of his core and keeps his hips and hands connected. Getting his bat to a good load angle will help him get more whip through the zone and generate more pop. Wesley is an intriguing prospect who we look forward to watching grow.

07/13/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Washington, DC Hogan is a tall/strong 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has a ton of talent. At 3B, he shows active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He funnels smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. Offensively, this RHH has a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. He takes a hack, engages his lower 1/2 and drives the ball to the gaps. On the mound, Wesley has an effective 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. He gets tall, has smooth separation and drives downhill, in-line toward the dish. FB tops out at 67 mph as he throws it for strikes. Changeup shows to be best off-speed pitch as he throws it with FB arm speed, helping to create deception. Hogan has a ton of upside with a bright future ahead of him. Continuing to work on the following will help him to take his game to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
