01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Wesley continues to show as a top prospect at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally (6.99 60 time) and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry (93 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

10/09/2019 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Wesley is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Wesley shows efficient footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He takes a level swing with plus-plus bat speed, leading to loud contact and great power production. On the mound, Wesley gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Wesley shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 86mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 71-73mph with good movement. Changeup sits from 70-73mph. Overall, Wesley is a talented two-way prospect who will be one to follow going into his senior season.

01/27/2019 - College PREP - Houston, TX Wesley is a solid, strong 3B/RHP with a bright future ahead on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft / sure hands. Throws are accurate with on line zip (92 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick / explosive (84 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 78-82 mph with slight tail. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he works fast, attacking hitters and through strikes with all his pitches. With his baseball tools, Wesley will get looks from the top collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
