08/22/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Wesley is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. A tall frame athletic build with projectable frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. In the infield, he shows smooth actions, with quick/fluid feet, and good body control at baseball. Creates good fielding angles and ability to play through the ball. Show some softness in his hands and fields the baseball out front with ability to pick out hops. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot with accurate/on-line throws across diamond and an arm velocity up to 77mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. A right-handed pitcher, he has a loose arm and showed ability to command his pitches. Gets to a good balance point and separates his hands on time. Has good feel for pitching and a good mound presence. Attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 74mph, a 12/6 shaped curveball with tight spin and good depth, and a changeup that has good sink that he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Hits into a firm front side with a flat barrel path and good balance at contact. Made consistent contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we can see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
