07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Wilk continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved, now showing well above average as he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active and attacks balls, playing through balls with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (84 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has some strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball showed a range of 72-79 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
