Official Scouting Report

07/29/2018 - College PREP - Washington, DC Will improved hitting numbers since his last workout with The Factory. Hitting and power grades both improved to 42 and 45 respectively. At the plate, Will has an open/athletic stance, a short stride, and he loads well. He has a level swing path, uses the middle of the field, and the ball comes off his barrel well. A more relaxed/simpler approach could help hitting continue to spike. At 3B, Will has playable hands and feet, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and makes adjustments well He has a clean exchange and a short/loose arm across the diamond. Quicker feet and playing more through the ball can help abilities at 3B get better.

04/27/2018 - College PREP - Potomac, MD Will is a versatile 2019 1B/RHP. Defensively, Will provides a big long and lean target at 1B. Fields the ball cleanly and gets low and in front. Sports a quick and deliberate glove hand as he can pick almost anything thrown his way. Sets up athletically at the plate, can get good leverage due to his long frame and centers the baseball consistently. Loads well and works the ball to all fields. On the mound, Will utilizes a three pitch mix. FB ranges from 72-74 mph with a little natural movement. Keeps hitters off balance with a 53-55 mph curveball that breaks nicely but really keeps hitters honest with a very good changeup. His Changeup is deceptive and drops off the table at 62-65mph. Look for Will to continue to impress in multiple facets of the game as he shapes into a nice little college ready player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
