01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Will showed as a prospect at the All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the OF, he displays smooth / easy actions. He shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an squared setup. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with bat speed (83 mph exit velocity), leading to loud contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 3 pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 74-77 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight running action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Overall, Will is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

09/20/2023 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2025) Will is an athletic L/R 6ft 1/172 OF/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he plays on the balls of his feet and his feet are active. Moves well to create range and gains an athletic fielding position. Glove is positioned in the front of eyes and can redirect the baseball back to the dirt with life and accuracy (83 velo). On the mound, he is confident and shows a feel for pitching. Likes to be aggressive and is composed in pressure spots. His FB sat 76-80 and was around the zone. His CB shaped 11-5 at 63-5. His CH sat 68 and was used sparingly. At the plate, he begins in a tall and open stance. Gains a short and squared stride and is in control of his movements. Barrel is on plane and he is on-time with the pitch. Collected 3 hits and 2 walks on the weekend. Overall, scouts were impressed with his willingness to learn, ask questions and his energetic play. They feel he is a solid player with a bright future ahead of him.

08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Hartford, CT Will continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities are now solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities are well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/19/2023 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Will is a 2025 LHH OF and RHP prospect with an athletic frame at 6'1" 167 pounds. In the OF, he does a good job pre-pitch of getting his feet activated and he shows off good range. He gets his glove in a good position while getting behind the baseball on fly balls. He makes accurate throws to his cutoff men with a quick exchange. Works hard on his first step and getting a good drop step on balls hit behind him. At the plate, Will has a squared stance with a short stride towards the pitcher. He gets a good load and exhibits a centered balance throughout his swing. He does a great job of getting his lower half engaged and shows off fast bat speed. His finish is impressive and he does a good job of making sure his hips are active and involved. Line drive spray hitter that works on having a level swing and consistent load. On the mound, Will was able to work low in the zone. He has a good front side and works to stay direct to his target. His release point was good on all 3 of his offerings. He demonstrated an ability to throw strikes consistently with his SL and FB. Asks good questions on the mound and shows a willingness to adjust/improve!

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Will is an athletic OF/RHP who will graduate on 2025. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-78 mph. Breaking ball displays shape 3/9 with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Will has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
