Exclusive College Recruiting Program a compact framed MIF prospect who has solid average skills across the board and is continuing to trend upward athletically and baseball performance. It’s a very simple RH swing from a low hand set with a toe tap and balance where he stays to the gaps with the ability to impact the baseball with authority. There is room for additional strength gains and ability to show some power to the pull side, but profiles best as a high contact doubles power with an on-base mindset. Defensively, the arm is average and handles SS at the HS level, but will need to continue to add strength to stay there, but athletically he moves well with rhythm and soft hands to field the baseball consistently and can more than handle a move to 2b, but there is still potential for him to stick at SS if he continues to trend upward defensively. Athletically, he has cut his 60 time down in the 6.9 range and he shows burst on the basepaths and defensively with a good first step and ability to get up to speed quickly and maintain the top speed for extended distances allowing him to push for extra bases and handle a MIF defensive position or possible move to CF, if necessary. Still room to grow physically and add strength to his game which will progress his skills and abilities even higher as he matures. A 3.5 student who is solid in the classroom with great work ethic on the field and good makeup off the field to be a well-rounded potential recruit. Plays for the Hit Club travel program out of Northern California.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Will continues to show improvements his baseball abilities at the Recruiting Classic showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, a 7.15 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B and 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and great team player.

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Walnut Creek, CA Will is a SS in the class of 2023. He shows off a medium sized wirey frame with room to add strength. In the field, he shows effective footwork and the ability to work downhill. Does a good job showing range to both sides of his body. Shows an ability to change arm angles in different situations. Double plays are clean and easy. At the plate, he shows a good lower ½ and is aggressive to the baseball. Shows good balance throughout the swing. Shows the ability to hit to the opposite field. Hit into a firm front side. Will is a good player that we hope to see again at future events.

10/23/2021 - Fall Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS) Will is a shortstop in the graduating class of 2023. He shows off a medium sized and athletic frame that still has room to fill out with continued development. He is an athletic kid that plays the game hard and with a great attitude. At SS, he shows off a decent arm and continues to impress with his athletic ability. Starts with an active prep step and continues his active feet throughout the fielding process. Does a good job fielding the ball out front and shows very soft hands. This right-handed hitter starts in a comfortable and athletic stance. Shows a good load and stride that allows him to hit from a constant launch position. Showed aggressive actions at the plate and the intent to do damage. Barreled multiple balls throughout live game action and had exit velos that reached 83 MPH. Will is a natural leader who continues to strive to be the best player and person he can be.

09/16/2021 - Pathway AZ Upperclass - 18U Will is a coachable SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Pathway tournament. In the field, Will takes a good prep step and shows quick footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft/sure hands. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws with carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing and produces strong line drives. Overall, Will is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Will is a lean SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active and works to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 2 years to further develop, Will has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
