03/08/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Will is a skilled 2-way player (C/RHP) who graduates in 2025. With the bat, he displays an open setup with centered balance. He has an aggressive approach and steps into the box looking to swing it. He takes a hack on-plane and squares the ball up, spraying it to all parts of the field. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He works hard laterally to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws to 2B are accurate with pop times of 2.75. On the mound, Will has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on his target and works in-line toward the dish. FB tops out at 61 mph as he pounds the zone with strikes. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with gradual action. Haacke is a talented player who has upside and will continue to improve with work on the following.

1. Stride square
2. Extension through contact
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
