06/09/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Will continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.85 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 81-85 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch with tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command/control is solid as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Will showed in the OF at the Pre Season All American and continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop.

11/04/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Will is an athletic OF with an excellent frame (6'3"/185) and some high-level tools. He ran a 6.85 in the 60 and covers ground well in the outfield. Playing through ground balls and fly balls well puts Will in very good position to show off his arm (90 mph arm strength). His release is clean and efficient and in addition to the arm strength, his throws are extremely accurate. Everything points to a true RF prospect at the next level. At the plate, Will has a quick LH stroke and attacks fastballs. He shows barrel whip through the zone, making a solid move through contact. He appears most comfortable turning on balls down the middle and on the inner half. With quick, strong hands, a feel for the barrel from the left side, and the ability to play multiple positions, Will is an attractive prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
