Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Pearland, TX Will is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame, with thick lower half, athletic build and room to add muscle. At C, he has an easy sit and active feet. Presents a low target for pitchers and shows a strong wrist. Creates good blocking angles, with a soft chest, and is quick to his feet. Short arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Good carry on his throws with an arm velocity up to 89mph and a best pop time of 2.0 seconds. A right-handed pitcher, he works exclusively from the stretch. Works with good direction down the mound and keeps eyes on target throughout delivery. Throws a FB that topped out at 81mph with good arm side run, an 11/5 breaking ball that flashes good depth, and changeup that has good sinking action. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, he hits from a tall and open stance. Has a small hand load, with strength at contact, and showed late bat whip. Hit balls to all fields during his round of BP with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. With another year of development, we see Will having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
