12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Will is a tall C/2B that graduates in 2021. Behind the dish, Will shows athletic movements with a solid primary stance receiving the ball with firm hands. In his secondary stance he shows on-time movements and good range laterally reading the path of the ball well. As he works to throw to 2B he makes clean exchanges showing a 2.1 second pop time and delivers accurate throws to the bag. At the plate, Will shows a square setup with loose and comfortable hands. His stride is square and controlled getting his foot down on time firing a short and compact swing making consistent contact. He works hard to get the barrel on plane and shows the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Will is a very coachable player with good hustle on and off the field. As he continues to grow and mature, he shows the ability to play at the next level.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Will is an athletic workhorse that showed well out in Omaha. At catcher, Will showed an athletic set up with soft but firm hands with a good secondary. His exchanges to second are clean with throws on the bag and effective footwork. Will showed the ability to block the ball well as he worked to center the ball and keep it in front of him. At the plate Will sets up in a square stance with high hands. He fires his lower half well and getting the bat on plane with the pitch. He shows the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Will showed to be an intelligent catcher and even stepped in to pitch for his team when they needed it. Wills work ethic and selflessness will be a big attribute to his development over the next few years.

03/17/2019 - College PREP - Tomball (Houston), TX Will is a tall C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Will shows efficient footwork and gains ground when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. Sitting in a more square stance to the pitcher can help Will improve as a C. At 2B, Will gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Will can improve as a 2B by increasing his lateral range. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He drives his lower half through well and sprays the ball to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Will improve as a hitter. With two more years to develop, Will has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
