06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Will is an R/R 2018 C with a strong athletic frame (6'0/180). This sure handed backstop presents a low target with good pocket awareness while sitting in a comfortable athletic setup. He blocks well with good lateral push and shows the ability to center the ball and be soft with impact. His pop time got down to as low of 2.04, but improving pre-pitch movement with his lower extremities will really improve his actions as he gains ground to target. At the plate, Will sits in a balanced setup with a square stride and ability to repeat his load into an on time launch position. As he begins his swing his hands are loose with a nice level path into the contact zone and extends through the zone to allow gap to gap pop. Overall he works and plays hard on the diamond with good feel for pitch calling. Will is going to be a strong/physical backstop to follow the next two seasons and be a great addition to many college rosters.
