06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Will continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (90 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 80-83 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes withal his pitches. Will has a very high skill set and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Will continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American event. In the OF, he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Will is a gifted OF in the 2024 class. Scouts feel he is extremely coachable, team player and works very hard at his craft. Showed well at the BF Academic All-American Games by reaching base safely 6 times (3 2B’s, 2 1B’s, 1 HBP) in seven trips. In the field, he has fluid feet and agile movements. Gains an athletic fielding position and redirects the back to the dirt quickly. Has a plus arm (85 velo) and is accurate to his relay partners. At the plate, he provides excellent bat speed (88 exit velo). Creates hard contact by using his whole body and allowing his bat to stay on-plane. Overall, Will is an outstanding 2024 prospect and scouts are eager to see where his game takes him.

12/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Will is an OF/2B in the class of 2024 out of California. At 2B, he continues to show smooth athletic actions with efficient foot work and the ability to work through the baseball while making consistent throws to his target. In the OF, he works low and through the run through ball and does a good job working behind the fly ball to set up his arm to make strong throws on line to target. At the plate, he used a crouchy stance with smooth timing to find balance and drive the ball middle to pull side on a line. Will had yet another good showing at San Bernandino and we are impressed to see his continuous development on the diamond.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Will is coachable and hard working 2B/OF in the 2024 class. At 2B, he showed active feet and the ability to get into a low fielding position with quick hands on the double play. In the OF, he worked behind the ball well and even handled tough sun conditions like a veteran. Offensively, he uses an open stance with a controlled leg kick to create explosive bat speed through the zone. He made hard consistent contact often. Will has really progressed since the last time we saw him and we are excited to see what his future holds with that continued work ethic.

12/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Will is an athletic 2B/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind, but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 4 years to further develop, Will has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
