05/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Will continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 90 mph. Fastball showed a range of 89-90 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as the throws strikes with all his pitches.

08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Will is a projectable 2-way player (3B/RHP) who showed well during his time in Pirate City. He is a very coachable player who brings a positive energy to the field day in and day out. At the plate, this LHH shows an athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. Quick hands whip the bat as he squares the ball up consistently. He hits the ball where it's pitched and drives it to all parts of the field. He has a smooth, repeatable stoke and hits line-drives. Even more power potential is there if he can avoid closing himself off on his stride. At 3B, Will has active footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. Hands are sure as he has a clean transfer to throw across the diamond. On the mound, this RHP works tall and drives downhill, repeating his delivery well. FB now tops out at 79 mph while showing some movement. Breaking ball has tight spin with 10/4 shape. He finishes complete and in an athletic position. He does a nice job of mixing his pitches and varying his looks with runners on. Pickoff move is quick as runners have a hard time getting a jump. Sanders (2020 grad) has a solid all-around skill-set that will provide success in the years to come.

04/30/2017 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Will is a tall, lean 3B/RHP who has a promising on the diamond. On the mound, he shows a big upside. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with sinking. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break and tight spin. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Hitting abilities will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to be on time. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. With 3 years to further develop, Will has a ton of potential with time and room to progress his game, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
