07/08/2015 - College PREP - Washington DC, MD Will is a hard worker who continues to progress. Defensively in the MIF, he is aggressive attacking the GB with quick footwork. He moves fluidly around the GB from right to left, funneling to a smooth transfer. At the plate, this righty has an athletic setup with fund rhythm to load. Swing is short/level as he hits the ball where it's pitched, connects and sprays it to all parts of the field. On the mound, Will has a repeatable delivery and is around the plate with all of his pitches. Delivery is compact as he stays directional toward the plate. Curveball is best off speed pitch, with 11/5 shape showing to be a solid out pitch, Will has a solid skill-set that should provide success in this his upcoming senior year.

10/12/2014 - National Tryout - Glen Burnie, MD Will continues to show well on the diamond. With the bat, this RHH shows an athletic approach with smooth rhythm. He has quick hands and delivers the barrel on a short/level path with bat speed. He has a smooth stroke and connects, driving the ball on a line. At SS, Will puts his athleticism on display as he moves around the ball from right to left. Actions are quick as he gathers well and plays through the ball toward his target. On the bump, FB shows slight arm-side run as he has a repeatable delivery. Arm works loose/free as he mixes well and works the ball to both sides of the plate. Slider is best off speed pitch as it compliments his FB well. Finishing with more extension on his follow through will improve effectiveness on all pitches. Will has worked hard and molded himself into a solid all-around player.

08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Will showed well during his time in Pirate City. Defensively at SS, this athlete works fluidly into position and fields the ball cleanly. Ball is quick/clean from glove to hand as he gets rid of it across the diamond. With the bat, this RHH shows a closed setup with rhythm. His hands a quick as his whips the barrel through the zone. He doesn't get beat often and is a tough out. Will also can pitch adding to his versatility. He works to a controlled balance point and drives off the rubber. He repeats well and has fluid mechanics. Runners have a hard time getting a jump as he varies his looks well. Will is an athletic player who can pick it defensively.

03/16/2014 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Will is a 5'11/155 lbs SS/RHP that will graduate in 2015. Defensively, he flashed sure hands in his ready fielding position and threw with fluidity to his target. He moved well laterally with plus footwork and body control and looked the part with clean actions. Gaining more ground and finding a more productive game speed tempo to work from will allow for more consistency in his game. Offensively, he attacked the zone with a direct barrel and level path. He stayed in the middle with his approach and got some extension through contact. On the hill, he threw 3 pitches with some raw mechanics - topping out at 71 MPH with his fastball. In all - Will projects best as a MIF that can make plays and hit for contact in the top of an order.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
