10/28/2018 - College PREP - Corpus Christi , TX Billy is a 2020 SS prospect. At SS, Billy is on time with his prep step, presents a low/early glove, and creates angles to the ball. He has good feeds on double plays, he plays through his backhand, and has a clean exchange. At the plate, Billy starts in a squared stance, attacks the inside part of the ball, and creates backside rotation. He creates separation in his load, stays balanced through contact, and drives the ball gap to gap. Billy will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Billy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he has really improved, now displaying outstanding hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At 2B, he displays smooth/clean actions. Hands are clean and he presents well out in front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/turn of the double play. Lateral movement is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat with range increasing as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker. He shows a high baseball IQ with great instincts. Billy has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/29/2017 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Billy is a lean, athletic (5'10, 140lbs) second base prospect who knows how to play the game. He can really pick it at second with soft, sure hands and makes all the tough plays up the middle. He gets prepared before the pitch with athletic actions and has a good first step to take good angles to the ball. He works from the ground up to field cleanly and has a quick exchange to make DP feeds and throws with an accurate arm. At the dish, he loads to a powerful bat angle and strides square to get on time. His lower half generates power as he gets on plane early with quick hands to barrel the ball consistently and spray hits to all fields. Extending through contact will lead to more hard hit balls moving forward. Billy is an exciting, young prospect with a high ceiling on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
