01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City William is a hardworking and talented 2020 catching prospect. Behind the dish, William presents a big target and tries to work behind the ball when receiving. Finding a balanced primary and athletic secondary stance will put him into a strong position to control the ball when receiving. He needs to continue to exchange the ball in front of his body and create momentum in his lower half when throwing to improve accuracy. He has a tendency to pull his head when blocking. Continuing to lead with the glove and creating a good spine angle over the ball will make him a more efficient blocker. Building arm strength in his throwing program and creating flexibility in his hips will improve his overall ability to throw. At the plate, William starts in a squared stance, he has a small load, and he rotates his core into the ball. He has good hand eye coordination and a compact swing. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, hunt the fastball, and create backside drive in his lower half. William will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
