01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) William is an OF/LHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, good reads off bat and efficient footwork enables him to take good routes to balls. Square fielding position as he fields ball out front with ability to make routine plays. Throws from a over the top arm slot with an arm velocity of 81 mph into infield. On the mound, this left-handed pitcher works with good tempo. Good direction towards plate and ability to throw strikes. Attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 74 mph, a breaking ball 2/8 shape, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 inning of work, he induced weak contact and 3 strikeouts. A left-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and open stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Simple and balanced swing with ability to hit balls to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 75mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Walnut Creek, CA William is a class of 2023 OF/LHP prospect. On the mound, he shows a good ability to work low in the zone with all of his pitches. Throws all pitches from the same 3/4 arm slot. Best pitch is his fastball that works up to 75 MPH with late armside run. Does a good job of pushing off the backside and down the mound. In the field, he does a good job of getting his feet moving with a simple prep step. Does a good job creating angles and working downhill on ground balls. Gets good reads off the bat and takes good routes towards the baseball. Keeps his momentum going and uses clean exchanges to create good throws. From the left side at the plate, he shows a balanced swing and simple approach. Did a good job getting loaded and into his backside. Flashed an advanced approach with a middle of the field focus. William is a well rounded prospect with 1 year remaining to develop his abilities before heading to college.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
