Official Scouting Report

  • C/RHPPosition Projection

11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) William is a strong and athletic 2024 C/RHP prospect. Behind the dish William displayed a good arm and was accurate on this throws. Starting with a relaxed wrist in his primary and secondary will allow him to control balls in the strike zone while receiving. Continuing to stay in a lower secondary and anticipating balls in the dirt on breaking ball counts will keep him on time with his blocks. Controlling the ball with his chest and keeping it in front of him will help him to control the running game. At the plate, William did a good job recognizing pitches and making hard contact on balls in his hitting zone. He loads his hands back and has explosive bat speed. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and staying balanced through contact will allow to hit line drives to all fields. On the bump, William has a proper stride length and finishes over his front side. Staying balanced over the rubber and separating on time will allow him to throw more consistent strikes. William will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH William is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Defensively behind the plate, he sticks pitches with soft hands. He tracks pitches well and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty delivers a FB and CH from a hi 3/4 arm slot. He has good tempo and stays directional towards home plate. Offensively with the bat, William gets back into a balanced load. He creates power by using his lower 1/2 and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Low/athletic setup
2. Quicker footwork
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Strong frontside
2. Develop CH
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
