07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy- Session 1 (HS) William continues to show improvements on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.78 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with online carry (82 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-66 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and develop off speed pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/14/2021 - All-In Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA William is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.12 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throw are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows solid hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, William has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
